Week 8 EOC: Creative Content

To help promote the food drive I want to have an ad on the radio. The basics of it are just to put the word out on the food drive to get people to come donate food. It would say things along the lines of the location of where the food drive will be held, what kind of items they may bring or are wanted, and from what times the food drive would be open. Another thing I would like to do is to have an announcement on the local news to again help promote the food drive and get more people to come. It would have the same basic concept as the radio ad just announcing the date, time and location of the food drive. While at the food drive I would like to record the people donating or take pictures and at the end of it all make a big thank you collage for all of their contributions and on this collage have pictures of them as well as of the different food baskets that we were able to put together for some of the families around the valley. Have an idea of hanging the collage at the mall the food drive was held that way whenever they come back to shop they can see pictures of what their donations helped to put together for someone else.

Implementation Evaluation Control

"Marketing implementation is the process that turns marketing plans into marketing actions in order to accomplish strategic marketing objectivesthe final plans are all in check and the food drive is ready to go into action. it will be held at meadows mall from 10am-6pm, with the help of MoveForHunger. Radio commercial will be played prior to the event to help bring in more people to donate. The Facebook page "Fight the Hunger Food Drive" will further help create a buzz and bring in more followers to the food drive.

Price

"Price is the amount of money customers must pay to obtain the product." but in this case there is no price on my project. The only thing the individual will spend is time, the time it takes to simply drop off food and help somebody else out.

Promotion

"Promotion means activities that communicate the merits of the product and persuade target customers to buy it". It is very important to get the word out about my project. i plan too do this by having ads play on the radio. it'll be simple dialogue basically saying where the food drive will take place, what times it will run thru and what items they may be able to bring and will also give credit to Move For Hunger for helping to put the food drive together. A facebook page will be put together with the title "Fight The Hunger Food Drive" it will contain all of the necessary information needed to keep up with the event.

Distribution

Distributing the food drive event its only at one location which will be at the meadows mall. i would have volunteers at every entrance ready to accept any donations that people will bring for the food drive.

Product

"Product means the goods-and-services combination the company offers to the target market". In this project the product is not something you buy but more of a gift. The concept of product is turned around so the comsumer is giving instead of recieving somthing. Which can be risky knowing peoples nature of wanting to recieve rather than give.

Target Marketing Strategy

"The company must first decide who it will serve". the target group that we would serve would be the struggling middle and lower class families around the Las Vegas valley. this cant be accomplished alone though we would need help from wealthier families that are able to donate any food. "The company must also decide how it will serve targeted customers". our targeted customers would be served by having extra bit of food for thier familes.

Situation or SWOT Analysis

"An overall evaluation of the company’s strengths (S), weaknesses (W), opportunities (O), and threats (T)." "Strengths include internal capabilities, resources, positive situational factors that may help the company to serve its customers and achieve its objectives. Weaknesses include internal limitations and negative situational factors that may interfere with the company’s performance. Opportunities are favorable factors or trends in the external environment that the company may be able to exploit to its advantage. And threats are unfavorable external factors or trends that may present challenges to performance."A strength of my project would be holding it in a public place where many people go to. as far as weaknesses go I'm not to sure what a weakness would be, maybe the fact that not a lot of people are willing to donate food without something in return. an opportunity of my project is the opportunity to help someone else in need of a basic necessity which is food. a threat for my project would be holding the food drive on a day the mall is not as busy.

Objectives

Every company has a mission that they want to accomplish and "This mission is then turned into detailed supporting objectives that guide the whole company." The main objective of this project is to help feed some of the families around the Las Vegas valley. Everybody at some point will need a helping hand and this project is a great way to help people.

Business Mission Statement

“A mission statement is a statement of the organization’s purpose—what it wants to accomplish in the larger environment. A clear mission statement acts as an “invisible hand” that guides people in the organization.” (Marketing: An Introduction pg5). The goal of my project is to help feed struggling families around the Las Vegas valley with this food drive. So with that being said I want my mission statement to be “help give back to your community by offering a helping hand to others”. It lets you know that your donations are helping others out; it is short and to the point. I think that helping out others is a great part of life. Giving to the less fortunate and struggling makes you feel good knowing you did something to help them out.

Pitch

Week 7 EOC: The Pitch

Many families in Las Vegas are struggling with providing food on the table. Having a food drive would be a great thing to help out the families in the Las Vegas valley. With some research i did online i found a company that helps to organize food drives around your local area. The organization is Move for Hunger their website MoveForHunger.org helps you to organize a food drive. I plan to hold it at Meadows Mall a public plave where plenty of people go everyday put out the word that anybody can donate at there. Use the help of radio to promote the food drive, create flyers. We would take donations from canned goods to water, drinks, breads, meats any food item that could help feed somebody else. Every bit of the food will go into food baskets that would be given to families. If possible we can have grocery stores donate some stuff as well.

Week 6 EOC: Me X3
One personal item that I recently purchased was a skin cover for my phone from the company Skinit. It’s an online company that offers a variety of skins for different electronic items. While browsing online I found the perfect item for my phone which featured a skin of my favorite sports team the San Francisco 49ers. I like that there is abundance of different teams and different themes to choose from. It really gives the feeling of customization. “Dividing a market into smaller segments with distinct needs, characteristics, or behavior that might require separate marketing strategies or mixes” (Marketing an Introduction p.175). Another personal item of mine that I love is cologne that my best friend gave to me as a present. It really defines who I am because I’m always wearing it and most people recognize me by that certain scent. The cologne is called Usher. I enjoy it the most out of all the other colognes that I own. The scent is great not to strong yet very subtle. This is a good example of gender segmentation because the focus is on a guy wanting to smell good. “Dividing a market into different segments based on gender.( Marketing an Introduction p178). A final item that I purchased that I highly treasure would be my cell phone. In the ongoing battle between Apple and Samsung I sided with Samsung and purchased the Samsung galaxy s2. I just love my phone I would be so lost without it. It has many useful features that I enjoy such and navigation music and there are plenty of apps on the android market to choose from as well. I believe this phone was marketed towards people around my same age range which is a good example of age segregation.” Dividing a market into different age and life-cycle groups.” (Marketing an Introduction p178)
